Ash B, in the First Division, must believe in London buses. After recording just their only victory last week they followed up with another, against Tennis B 7-3. The star of the evening was Ash’s Hudson Foley with a maximum, James Wyncoll and Daniel Koenigsberger supported with duos. In their previous match Tennis B had overcome a two man Central B team 6-4. Michael Kwan was unbeaten for Tennis with Martin Townshend and Andy Appleby each winning twice for Central.
With the weather provoking several postponements there was only one match in the Second Division where two-man Ash C beat Cody B 7-3 with both Nigel Tustin and Frank Winnard undefeated.
Crawley Ridge B, in the Third Division, kept their promotion push on track with a 9-1 mauling of Tennis F. Phil Garrett and Dave Skellern each chalked up maximums with Richard Hornby supporting with a pair. Cody C eased past Fleet B 7-3 with Dave Thomas securing a maximum whilst team-mate Bruce McPherson won twice as did Fleet’s Rob Brook.
The Fourth Division was more hardy with three matches played. Braybrooke B proved too strong for Ash G winning 7-3. Kenny Duarte and Sandra Jackson were both unbeaten. Fleet C edged past two man Ash F 6-4 although the star of the evening was Ash’s Graham Thomas with a full house. Tennis J beat Cody E 6-4 with Keith Johnson securing a full house for Tennis. He was supported by ken Lewington with a duo which was matched by Cody’s Dave Hewitt.
