The eagerly awaited second half match between the two unbeaten sides in the top flight, Central A and Bentley A, went the way of Central A, 7-3. Paul Baker led the way with a full house and Phil Snelson won twice in support. This was Snelson’ first loss of the season, to Graham Diplock who won another to record a worthy double. Ash A picked up an 8-2 victory against Fleet A. Dave Phelps was unbeaten with team-mates Nigel Care and Dave Halfpenny each winning twice but both lost to Fleet’s Fallon Thompson. A close inspection of the scorecard showed many tight matches.

Tennis E remain bottom of the Second Division having lost 6-4 to one of the teams around the relegation area, Cody B. No player was unbeaten with Peter Killick and Graham McCulley winning twice for Tennis as did the Cody pair of Paul Mission and Dave Stenning. Cody A eased to a 6-4 success over Tennis D. Pu Zhang was undefeated for Tennis whilst Keith and Phil Russell both bagged braces for Cody. Frimley B will be delighted with their 9-1 victory against Bentley B. Newcomer Clive Weisman together with David MacKinnon were both unbeaten whilst John Eade won a couple.

Ash D eased past Fleet B 6-4 with Amy Parkes winning all three for Ash and colleague Jo Bartlett bagging a brace. This was matched by Fleet’s Andrew Blunden. Cody C beat Crawley Ridge A 7-3 thanks to a Dave Thomas maximum and a pair from John Harvey. David Skellern won a couple for Crawley Ridge. Frimley D beat Tennis F 7-3 with reserve Ted Cornell notching a trio. He was supported by Brian Greenberg who won a couple as did Tennis’ Charles Burton. Tennis G kept the pressure on at the top of the table with an emphatic 8-2 victory over Ash E. Peter Bone won all three for Tennis with team-mates Martin Evans and Mehrdad Abutalebi each winning twice both losing to Ash’s Terry French.

The leaders in the Fourth Division, Crawley Ridge C, had to work hard for a 6-4 victory over Frimley E. They were indebted to Yuriy Schulzhenko who picked up a maximum  with team-mate Mark Stephenson winning twice. This was matched by Frimley’s Ramesh Vasudevamurthy. Tennis H beat their J team 6-4 with Michael Wolfe unbeaten for the H team. Team-mate John Page supported with a pair which was matched by Graham Dorey for the J squad.Fleet C beat Braybrooke B 6-4 with Alan Yeung undefeated for Fleet. Both Kenny Duarte and Sandra Jackson won duos for Braybrooke. Cody E showed no mercy to their F team winning 9-1. John Asprey and Malcolm Moran-Ellis were both unbeaten with Dave Hewitt winning a couple. Frimley F whitewashed Ash G thanks to Ted Cornell, Gary Smith and Steve Lawlor
