Tennis H appear to have unearthed another gem as 13 year old Joe Sparkes made his debut for the Fourth Division team. He was unbeaten in an 8-2 success for his side against Ash G. Michel Wolfe and John Page supported with duos. Frimley F remain promotion favourites, though, after an 8-2 victory over Cody F. Ted Cornell notched up another trio for Frimley with team-mates Steve Lawlor and Gary Smith each winning twice both succumbing to Cody’s Norrie Short. Crawley Ridge C, however, kept their lead at the top with a whitewash of Tennis J. Richard Hornby, Mark Stephenson and Yuriy Schulzhenko bagging the points. Frimley E eased past Ash F 7-3 but it was Graham Thomas from Ash who was the star performer with a full house. Steve Chapman, Maureen Bromley and Ramesh Vasudevamurthy all won twice for Frimley.
Bentley A beat Fleet A 9-1 to keep up the pressure at the top of the table. Micky Lang and Graham Diplock were unbeaten with Trevor Spraggs supporting with a duo. Central A responded by whitewashing Frimley A. Phil Snelson, Peter Millard and Paul Baker notching the points. Ash A beat their clubmates from the B team 7-3 with Nick Mills and Dave Halfpenny both undefeated for the A team.
In the Second Division Ash C and Frimley B shared the spoils with Ash’s Frank Winnard unbeaten. Bob Walker and David MacKinnon both won twice apiece for Frimley. Frimley C grabbed a much needed 8-2 win over Tennis E. Hilary Greig and Gary Nicholson each recorded maximums whilst Vasco Correia supported with a brace. Braybrooke A and Bentley B shared the points. Yizhong Wei won all three for Braybrooke. Robin Street and Paul Farrant each won twice for Bentley.
Third Division leaders, Crawley Ridge C, edged past Cody C, 6-4, to keep a cushion at the top of the table. David Skellern was undefeated for Crawley Ridge with Phil Garrett supporting with a duo. This was matched by Cody’s Bruce McPherson. Crawley Ridge A and Cody D shared the points with Crawley Ridge grateful to reserve Yuriy Schulzhenko for a full house. Kim Phillips won a couple for Cody D in a match in which everybody won at least once. Frimley D and Ash E split the points in another draw. Terry French was unbeaten for Ash with team mate Les Knight grabbing a pair. This was matched by Frimley’s Ted Cornell.
