Frimley A chalked up their first win of the season in the First Division with a 7-3 success against Ash A. Nigel Oh led the way with a full house whilst team-mates Tim Ngyou and Ce Guo chipped in with duos. Fleet A will be very content with their 8-2 victory over Tennis B. Fallon Thompson was unbeaten for Fleet with colleagues, Lawrence dack and David Joyce both bagging braces with both losing to Tennis’ Paul Shakespeare. Central A whitewashed Tennis C with Phil Snelson, Peter Millard and Paul Baker grabbing the points.
Two unbeaten records disappeared in the Fourth Division with Frimley F proving too strong for Crawley Ridge C in a 6-4 victory. Ted Cornell was unbeaten for Frimley with Richard Hornby and Yuriy Shulzhenko both winning twice apiece for Crawley Ridge. Frimley E inflicted the first loss of the season on Cody E when they triumphed 6-4. Ramesh Vasudevamurthy secured his regular trio for Frimley with team-mate Charles Rhodes supporting with a pair. Malcolm Moran-Ellis won twice for Cody. Fourteen year old Miguel Lopes made a winning start to his table tennis career when he won twice in a 7-3 victory for Tennis H against Ash F. Michael Wolfe and John Page also won twice for Tennis as did Ash’s Graham Thomas. Fleet C proved too strong for Cody F with an 8-2 victory. Alan Yeung won all three for Fleet with Roy Chittenden and John Allan assisting with duos but both lost to Cody’s Nigel Willshire. Tennis J and Braybrooke B shared the points with Sandra Jackson unbeaten for Braybrooke and Kenny Duarte winning twice in support. Keith Johnson won a couple for Tennis.
In the Second Division Ash C won their first match of the season, 8-2, against Tennis D. Both Frank Winnard and Nigel Tustin were unbeaten. Frimley B proved too strong for their C team with a 7-3 victory John Eade led the way for the B team with a full house whilst team-mates Pete Good and David Mackinnon won twice apiece with both losing to the C team’s Anthony Connelly.
The top two teams in the Third Division maintained their 100% record. Crawley Ridge B eased past Ash E 6-4 in a match where every player won and lost. Phil Garrett and David Skellern won twice for Crawley Ridge as did Ash’s Terry French. This allowed Tennis G to narrow the gap as they overcame Cody C 9-1 with both Peter Bone and Martin Evans undefeated. Mehrdad Abutalebi supported with a pair. Cody D beat Ash D 7-3 with Kim Phillips leading the way with a full house. Team-mate John Sheehy bagged a brace as did Ash’s Jo Bartlett. Tennis F proved just too strong for Crawley Ridge A easing past with a 6-4 success. Tennis’ Charles Burton secured a maximum with colleague Tushar Vaja winning twice which was matched by Crawley Ridge’s Russell Gibbs.
