In the Fourth Division Tennis H moved to the top of the table after inflicting the first defeat of the season on Crawley Ridge B, 6-4. Martin Evans starred for Tennis with a maximum whilst Crawley Ridge’s Phil Garrett won twice. Tennis J appear to have unearthed a potential star in the form of Tom Ette who was unbeaten in the 8-2 victory over Cody F. John Page and John Davis supported with duos but both lost to Cody’s John Asprey. Another junior, Ben Carr, also won all three when his team, Ash H, beat the club’s F team 7-3. Colleague Darren Milstead won a couple as did the F team’s Janet Guess. Braybrooke E easily overcame Ash J 8-2 with Sandra Jackson unbeaten. Team mates Malcolm Codd and Kenny Duarte each won a couple as did Ash’s Bob Powney. Ash G beat Fleet C 7-3 with Bob Murrell recording a trio with Ray Mears and Chris Payne bagging braces.

In the Second Division Cody A chalked up their first win when they eased past Braybrooke A 6-4. Keith Russell led the way with a maximum whilst Peter Anthony supported with a pair which was matched by Braybrooke’s Mark Armstrong. Fleet A demolished Old Woking 9-1 and are clear favourites to take the title even at this early stage of the season. David Joyce and Fallon Thompson both recorded trios whilst Lawrence Dack won twice. Ash C eased past Bentley B 6-4 with Bentley’s Robin Street winning all three. Nigel Tustin and Frank Winnard each won twice for Ash. Frimley C easily overcame their B team, 8-2, with Peter Farrelly notching a trio. Derek Seager and John Eade supported with braces.

Tennis A continue to dominate the First Division after a 9-1 mauling of their C team. Rod Kay and Paul Myers were both unbeaten with Eliot Tilley supporting with a duo. Central B beat two-man Central A 6-4. The A team’s Phil Snelson secured a maximum.

Two promotion contenders, Frimley D and Cody C shared the points with Frimley’s Gary Nicholson undefeated. Barry Baxter won twice in support with this being matched by Cody’s John Harvey. Crawley Ridge A beat Ash D 7-3 with Russell Gibbs notching a maximum and team-mate Ken Thompson winning a couple. Hugh McKee bagged a brace for Ash. Tennis F beat a two-person Ash E team 8-2. Graham McCulley was unbeaten for Tennis.
