In the early stages of the season it seems likely that the Fourth Division will be the closest but some teams suffered large defeats in the latest round of matches. Ash F chalked up their first victory of the season showing no mercy to their club’s J team winning 9-1. Sheila Pretty and John Hutchinson both secured maximums with team-mate Brian Simpson chipping in with a duo. Cody F also won for the first time, 6-4, against Fleet C. Alan Yeung picked up a maximum for Fleet with all the Cody team, John Asprey, Norrie Short and Vic King winning twice. Crawley Ridge B beat Tennis J 9-1 inflicting on Tennis their first loss of the season David Marchant and Richard Hornby were both unbeaten with newcomer Philip Garrett winning twice. Frimley E did very well to beat Ash G 9-1 with both Stephen Bridle and Dennis Smith unbeaten and Paul Phelan supporting with a brace. Tennis H beat Ash H 7-3 with Keith Johnson and Martin Evans both undefeated for Tennis.

In the First Division Frimley A recorded their first win of the season when they beat Tennis D 6-4. Michael Kwan was undefeated for Tennis with the Frimley pair of Nigel Oh and Tim Ngyou each winning twice. Central B beat Ash A 8-2 with Andy Appleby winning all three and Robin Pretty and Martin Townshend each winning twice for Central.

Crawley Ridge A, in the Third Division, notched their first win of the season when they whitewashed Tennis G. Corin Moore, Russell Gibbs and Ken Thompson being the winning trio. Tennis F edged past Frimley D 6-4 with Peter Killick winning all three for Tennis. Colleague Graham McCulley won a couple in support with Gary Nicholson matching this for Frimley. Cody C just got the better of their E team with a 6-4 success. Jock Docherty won all three for the C team with John Sheehy winning twice for the E squad.

Ash C continue to prosper in the Second Division with the latest success being an 8-2 victory over Frimley B. Frank Winnard led the way with a full house but he was ably supported by Nigel Tustin and Karim Lawji who each won twice. Bentley B beat Tennis E 7-3 thanks to maximums from Robin Street and Paul Farrant. Frimley C and Cody A shared the points with Frimley’s Peter Farrelly winning all three. The father and son combination of Keith and Phil Russell each won twice for Cody.
