Cody A, in the First Division, chalked up their first win of the season when they beat fellow strugglers, Ash B, 7-3. Keith Russell, Kin Chan and Peter Anthony all won twice for Cody. At the top of the table two of the championship contenders, Central B and Bentley A shared the points. Andy Mudie won his customary trio whilst Mark Hancock and Robin Pretty both bagged braces for Central. Ash A and Frimley A also drew with Nick Mills undefeated for Ash and Dave Gilham supporting with a duo this being matched by Frimley’s John Wheeler. Central A proved too strong for Tennis B with Phil Snelson unbeaten and Peter Millard winning twice in support. Paul Myers won a couple for Tennis.
Frimley B, in the Second Division, also won their first match of the season when they easily beat Tennis E 8-2. Both Hudson Foley and Vasco Correira chalked up maximums.
Frimley C maintained their 100% start to the season when they beat fellow Third Division promotion contenders Cody C 8-2 in the process inflicting the first defeat of the season on Cody. Bob Walker and Derek Seager were both unbeaten for Cody. Cody D beat Tennis G 7-3 thanks to Bob Fenner’s maximum and Den Hewitt’s pair. Martin Evans won a couple for Tennis. Crawley Ridge A eased past Ash D 6-4. Ken Thompson winning all three and Russell Gibbs a couple. Darren Milstead won twice for Ash. Frimley D and Ash F shared the points with Ash’s Karim Lawji undefeated and pairs for Frimley duo of Gary Nicholson and Barry Baxter.
In the Fourth Division Cody E lost their 100% record when they shared the spoils with Ash G. Bob Murrell secured a trio with the Cody pair, Alan Richards and Nigel Roberts each winning twice. Crawley Ridge B edged past Ash K 6-4 with Stuart Wickham the star performer with a maximum for Ash. Richard Hornby, Richard Pape and Ron Bartlett all won twice for the Camberley outfit. Tennis J beat their H team 6-4 with Charles Burton winning all three for the J team and colleague Dave Lewis bagging a brace as did the H team’s John Page. Cody F beat Ash H 6-4 with both John Sheehy and Phil Russell notching maximums. Fleet B beat Ash J 8-2 thanks to a trio from Rob Brook and pairs from John Allan and Roy Chitteden.
