Broadmoor A suffered an 8-2 reverse at the hands of Ash A, virtually handing the Aldershot & District Division 1 title to Bentley A. Graham Watts was the chief destroyer winning all three, but he was pushed to the limit by Mark Handcock, recovering from two down to eventually win 12-10 in the fifth. Pete Anthony picked up a good win over Robin Pretty (2) on his way to two for Cody A but Central B ran out 7-3 winners, Dave Phelps, who only just beat Anthony 13-11 in the fifth, won three. Bentley A whipped Tennis A 10-0, losing only one end all night, Crispian Knight, Micky Lang and Andy Mudie all easing to three wins. Ash B and Central A fought out a pulsating five all draw, Dave Gilham (2) of Ash won the match of the night 12-10 in the fifth against Paul Myers (2) while Dave Halfpenny for Ash and Dennis Perrett for Central each bagged two wins to complete the symmetry.
 
Neil Print had two impressive wins against Ash D but his Tennis D slumped to an 8-2 reverse at Ash D for whom Nigel Tustin trebled up. A Gordon Aplin hat trick helped Old Woking to another 7-3 win in Division 2, Dave Jarvis bagged two for Tennis C but it wasn’t enough.
 
Cody C impressively won all four of the fifth enders on their way to a 6-4 win over Tennis H in Division 3. David Thomas snaffled two of three close encounters as he bagged a victory trio. Nick Green and Ken Thompson were on top form as their three’s set up an 8-2 win for Farnham Cohesion A over Tennis G. Tennis F handed out a 10-0 thrashing to Cody D, Colin Baggott, Eliot Tilley and Graham Marshall all winning maximums. A Les Knight ha trick proved to be the difference between Ash’s E and F, the E team running out 7-3 winners. An entertaining derby between Frimley C and Frimley D saw the D team edge home 6-4, Peter Glass was the clear difference winning all three for the victors.
 
A Michael Bly three won the day for Tennis J as a keenly contested Division 4 match went their way 6-4, John Davis pipped Frimley F’s Kevin Bissell 13-11 in the fifth in the match of the night. Farnham Cohesion B and Fleet CC B were desperate to get to the pub as eight matches were over three straight. Chris Carter and Jeremy Fox were the thirstiest of the lot racing to three each as Fleet breezed it 8-2. Cody F won four of the five games that went to five as their fighting spirit earned them a share of the points with Ash G, Terry Kavanagh saved the day for Ash, his three keeping them in it. Bob Fenner (3) and Norrie Short (2) did enough to earn Cody E a five all draw v Ash H, Dave Phillips (2) fought hard in vain for Ash. Ash J easily beat stable mates Ash K 9-1, George Carder and Brian Lunn both on triple form as their late promotion charge continues. Frimley F lost 8-2 at Cody F, Nigel Roberts, man of the match with three wins, was ably supported by Kim Phillips (2) and James Hodges (2).  
 
Fleet CC B booked their place in the Division 4 cup final after a 5-3 win over Cody E for whom Bob Fenner was unlucky to end up a loser as he won all their points. Two’s however were enough from Fleet’s Ron Bartlett and Jeremy Fox to set up the win.
