With the withdrawal of Tennis B the First Division is now only nine strong ie three blanks. In total there are 40 teams in the League. There has been a gradual decline for several years but the league is facing some real problems. So what can be done to keep the League alive? The decision making body of the League is the AGM any decisions taken there could only, in all fairness, be implemented for the 2018-19 season. If we feel the need to change the format then an EGM will need to be called in the winter break so that all participants have half a season to know what the future holds.
Unfortunately F Tennis B has withdrawn from the First Division
Sadly Peter's death was reported last week. He had been a player with Ash and, more recently, Crawley Ridge. He was a winner of the Division Four Cup last season and a regular attendee at the coaching sessions.
The funeral is at Easthampstead Crematorium, 9 Mile Rd, Crowthorne on 6th Oct 10.30am.
I will update on flowers etc.
