Andy Murdock

Sun, 20/08/2017 - 21:01 -- jpsnelson

I am very sorry to inform you that Andy passed away on the evening of Wed 9th Aug after suffering a heart attack following a coaching session. Along with his friends and colleagues at Farnborough Tennis we are all shocked and saddened by the loss of one of our active coaches and league players.

Andy had recently done some great work coaching the kids at Farnborough Tennis and his efforts were recently recognised when he received the Vera Hutchinson Award at last year's AGM. Andy will be missed by all in the Aldershot League and are thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Amending a League Scorecard

Thu, 19/01/2017 - 15:08 -- Dave Brown

Phil has added a facility for me to be able to amend a league (not cup) scorecard. To save me trawling through every scorecard if you could let me know by e mail which ones have errors that would save me some time. The main reason is the spelling of player's names.

Thanks

Dave Brown

The Future

Mon, 19/09/2016 - 12:08 -- Dave Brown

With the withdrawal of Tennis B the First Division is now only nine strong ie three blanks. In total there are 40 teams in the League. There has been a gradual decline for several years but the league is facing some real problems. So what can be done to keep the League alive? The decision making body of the League is the AGM any decisions taken there could only, in all fairness, be implemented for the 2018-19 season. If we feel the need to change the format then an EGM will need to be called in the winter break so that all participants have half a season to know what the future holds.
